The mission of the Lodi Rainbow Project is to be a catalyst for personal growth, acceptance and equality for the LGBT community and their allies in the Lodi area.
The purpose of the Lodi Rainbow Project is to provide an open, safe, inclusive space that is committed to educating Lodi’s citizens and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community. We support and affirm the diverse identities and lives of LGBTQ, their families, friends, and allies. We recognize that this work requires a continued process of understanding and addressing all forms of prejudice, bigotry, harassment, and violence in order to promote diversity within the community. We are committed to this process both in our work and in the structure of the Project itself.
The Rainbow Project promotes the innate freedom to explore and increase their understanding of all genders and sexualities, aspects related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression in an open and nonjudgmental environment.
We promote the cultivation of educational outreach, advocacy, visibility of LGBTQ issues, information, referral, and academic leadership opportunities. The Rainbow Project is a dynamic, responsive and collaborative organization that serves the citizens of Lodi and the surrounding community by providing a growing spectrum of programs, resources, outreach and advocacy.
